Day 2 – A little moodier than yesterday


OK! Day 2 is complete of my ketogenic journey! Today, I was quite tired, and I had a difficult time accessing and processing information in my brain, such as information that I knew very well at work, took me a little longer to remember today. I was also told a few jokes today, and I was slower on the underlying joke of them. So, I’d say that my cognition is slightly impaired today.

Also, I was moody today. I felt a subtle cloud of “down-ness” shadow my day, and my energy was just very low.

On a positive note, I was not as hungry as prior keto, and my cravings for carbohydrates were absent. I did get a little swooney when my fiancee enjoyed a few street tacos (he’s doing keto with me, as well), but I didn’t struggle with the decision of, “should I eat them” or, “should I not eat them”. This is good progress in general for me!

What I ate


NO coffee with coconut oil and butter today! Instead, I had a latte with espresso and almond milk & I had the same breakfast as yesterday; my own creation of an almond flour-based porridge which had:

  • Almond Flour
  • Coconut Milk
  • Coconut Sugar

Net Carbohyrate Content = 10g total (with coffee and porridge)


A Greek-inspired salad that had:

  • Chicken
  • Spinach
  • Bell pepper
  • Red onion
  • Kalamata Olives
  • Oil
  • Feta

Net Carbohydrate Content = 15g total


Spicy Chicken & Asparagus that had:

  • Chicken breast
  • Olives
  • Asparagus
  • Variety of spicy peppers (jalapeno, habanero and dragon cayenne)
  • Olive Oil (I know this is supposedly not ketogenic, but I prefer it for cooking)

Net Carboyhydrate Content = 6g


  • Cucumber & Smoked Salmon

Net Carbohydrate Content = 2g

My Highlights

Total Net Carbohydrate Content for All Meals = 33g

Mood: A little moody today, with “down-ness” reported

Hunger: Fuller for longer periods of time

Energy: Low

Sleepiness: Sleepy

Reproductive Health: Normal

Skin: Clearing up from small breakout

Skin Hydration: Feeling more hydrated today, although hands are still dry

Inflammation: My hands and feet puffy

Hirsuitism: Normal

Weight: -2.6lbs (woohoo!)

Waist Size: no change

Hip/Booty Size: no change

Arm Size: no change

Thigh Size: no change

All Lab Values: Normal


Today was a little rough with my mood, my energy and my cognition. I am happy about the weight-loss, although I am not counting on it being that dramatic all of the time, and I am happy about my satiation! It’s very exciting not to be hungry very often 🙂
