Day 3 – Cranky and hungry


OK! Day 3 is complete of my ketogenic journey! Today, I was quite cranky lol although I didn’t have a cloud of “down-ness”, but I was irritable FOR SURE. Also, while eating lunch, I wasn’t that hungry, but then within a few hours, I was super hungry until I ate dinner. My breath also tasted weird today…EW Gross, right? Haha

On a good note, my belly feels flatter today, and I don’t feel bloated as I commonly do. Also, my appendages feel less puffy, which is super awesome, especially since a storm seems to be coming through.

What I ate


An Americano with a splash of almond milk & my own creation of an almond flour-based porridge which had:

  • Almond Flour
  • Coconut Milk

Net Carbohydrate Content = 6.5g


A taco salad that had:

  • Ground beef
  • Spinach
  • Bell pepper
  • Black Olives
  • Salsa

Net Carbohydrate Content = 9g


Cauliflower “mac ‘n’ cheese” that had:

  • Cauliflower
  • Vegan cheese (Daiya)
  • Red onion
  • Butter
  • Coconut Cream

Net Carbohydrate Content = 11g


  • Walnuts
  • Fatty Chocolate thing (coconut oil, butter, coconut sugar, cacao powder and vanilla extract)
  • Cucumber & Smoked Salmon

Net Carbohydrate Content = 10g

My Highlights

Total Net Carbohydrate Content for All Meals = 36.5g

Mood: Irritable and cranky

Hunger: Fuller for most of the day, but then became very hungry

Energy: Lower

Sleepiness: Tired

Reproductive Health: Normal

Skin: Breakout is gone

Skin Hydration: Less dry, and hands are less dry, too

Inflammation: My hands and feet are less puffy

Hirsuitism: Normal

Weight: -1.4lbs

Waist Size: no change

Hip/Booty Size: no change

Arm Size: no change

Thigh Size: no change

All Lab Values: Normal


Today was a little difficult with my mood, and I became really hungry in the afternoon and evening. The challenge I’m struggling with a little is no-dairy as it’s not the best for us women with PCOS. I know for a fact I become very moody with any dairy (even cheese), but this would reduce the amount of carbs, but I am not going to eat dairy knowing the way it makes me feel.

Another interesting note, my fat content in my body has been increasing since I started keto (it totally makes sense as I am increasing my fat dramatically). I have gained approximately 4lbs of fat mass, so it’s evident I have not entered “ketosis” where my body is using my fat as energy. I’m very excited for this! I also suspect that my lack of inch-loss, although weight-loss, has something to do with the fact my body hasn’t began using fat as energy. Also something to note, my hydration has dropped, even though I am drinking the same of approximately 90 oz of water every day. I’m sure there is a reason to this, I just need to research it.
